The Colored Museum

The Studio's production of The Colored Museum was designed as an immersive experience that combines a pre-show "exhibit-viewing" experience with the staged performance. As the audience entered the space, they encountered a series of artwork created by local students from Duke Ellington High School; the artworks were developed through workshops with Psalmayene 24, director, and Natsu Onoda Power, set designer.

The audience was seated in a massive ship, evoking the "slave ship" in the first scene "Git on Board."
